My hubby was telling me that we should consider buying a bike rack for the back of the car to accommodate our son’s bike. He said that his friend Darren suggested we check out the bike racks at cracksandracks.com because they have a large selection there, and they offer free shipping. Well, I’m all about free shipping, but since I’ve recently become interested in buying things that are made in the USA, I think that before we order anything I might call their customer support telephone number and ask them if any of their products are made in the USA before I make any decisions about purchasing anything.

Now that I got to thinking about all the fun we had as kids at the bowling alley, I did a quick search and found a photo of the building from back in the day. We used to walk the mile or so from our house to get to the bowling alley. Back then, it was not a big deal for 3 or 4 kids to walk that far without an adult. Of course, I would never allow that in today’s world. Things have really changed.

Did I mention the golf tournament last weekend where I volunteered to help a local non profit? It was a last minute request for help and I couldn’t say no. They only needed someone to help stuff the goodie bags and then man the registration table for 2 hours. How could I say no? I’ve never been to that golf course and it was beautiful. I got to take a tour of the club house and even spent some time in the locker room, helping someone who cut their hand get it washed and cleaned up so I could put a band aid on it. The lockers were jammed with women changing their clothes to play golf or changing back to street clothes when they had finished their rounds. I had the distinct feeling that most of the women who played gold that day were lawyers. You could just tell by their conversations that I could not help but overhear while I was helping the little girl wash her cut hand.

The small lockers in the clubhouse reminded me of the gym lockers that I used in high school. They were painted metal, with little slats to ventilate the lock contents. The only difference was that these did not have the bulky combination padlocks that we had to use in school. These had key locks.

When I was in high school my small locker was barely big enough to hold my clothes plus my notebook and textbooks that I needed for my next class. I’m sure that the lady lawyers left most of their belongings in their car trunks rather than cart everything into the club house. Their lockers were more for the convenience of leaving their golf shoes and some small toiletries in the clubhouse, and someplace safe to leave their purse while they played a round.

My sister sent me that Internet link to a website that claimed to sell the Best Bra ever invented.  She knew that I’ve been wanting to buy some comfortable Seamless shape wear to be able to wear under this really tight-fitting tie-die dress that I bought a few weeks ago.  I love the dress but there are some love-handles and muffin-top bulges that I’d like to eliminate without strangling myself!

And there are several tops that I bought online that has deeper cleavage than I had expected, so I’m also looking to buy a Bra and Cami with cleavage cover so I can wear those tops without fear of showing off more of my sensual side than appropriate for work.

Anyway, my sister suggested that I try this new lingerie and I started to read about it – it sounded like something I’d be interested in trying on.  Problem is the closest store is over four hours away!  Nice try, sis, but that is too long a drive for underwear!

This is the first week that school has been out in this area. I think we are the very last school system in the country to let kids out. In fact, my sister’s kids have been out for 3 weeks already. That hardly seems fair to my kids.

I have some plans for the summer, but nothing all that lavish this year. The economy is taking a bite out of most people’s summer vacation plans, and we are no exception. We are going to the lake this coming weekend unless it rains.

We always have a nice time at the lake, and lately we have had good luck running across friends who are at the lake with a boat and we get offers to water ski with them. I always say, the best boat is a friend’s boat!
