It looks like vampires and werewolves are the new teen cult or popular horror characters. I think there are at least four different authors churning out books about vampires that are turning into huge hits. I’ve not read any of them, but now I’m curious about what’s the big attraction?
I bought a new computer and just now realized that there is no place on the hard drive part to insert my old floppy disk. So all those files I so religiously backed up and not able to be used on this new computer! What’s up with that?
I cannot remember how long its been since I was in a real bookstore looking for a book. I just suddenly felt really guilty about that and decided to visit Barnes and Noble. It was a wonderful visit! I spent over an hour in there, just looking at books.
I don’t understand why the pharmacy under-staffs itself so badly on the weekends. On Saturday and Sunday, they only work one pharmacist and one pharmacy technician. Every time I go into the store on a weekend I take a look at the pharmacy and see that there are very long lines to drop off and pick up prescriptions. It is obvious that the pharmacy needs more pharmacy technicians to work on the weekends, but the stores are too cheap to schedule them. It makes me really glad that I don’t usually work on a Saturday!
Fortunately for me, I DO work on Sunday in a small pharmacy that is very slow. I only work from 10-2. I’ve offered to work longer hours, but the pharmacist says that he doesn’t really need me more hours than that, as those are the busy hours. So I’m glad to get the hours, and I’m glad it is a slow store because then I don’t feel overwhelmed – the work is a nice steady pace at that store on Sunday.
The last two Sundays that I’ve worked, the hubby of one of my next door neighbors has come to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions for his wife. It was a surprise to see him! I almost didn’t recognize him at first – being out of context like that! But when I realized who it was I asked him how he was doing, and how his wife was doing. He said she was suffering from really bad allergies, and that is what the medicine was for, her allergies. But I think that he felt a little bit awkward to realize that I was working in the pharmacy; maybe he was afraid that I might learn all of their medical secrets. Of course I would never access any-one’s record unless I had to do so in the line of work, and I haven’t done that. I could get fired for doing that, and I want to keep my job! This is a nice pharmacy to work for, the people are really nice and I don’t want to go to work anywhere else where the people might not be so nice!
