My little sister graduated from high school last night. I was so proud of her, she really did it! High school is such a tough thing to get through; so many social pressures to do the wrong things. So many of her friends were getting into trouble so frequently I was afraid that they were going to do something that would end up with ALL of them in jail, with my little sister right beside them just because she happened to be in the car when the rest of them did something stupid.

Well, she has graduated and now she has some vocational training to look forward to in the fall. She says she wants to be an X-ray technician. I think that’s a wise choice because the health field is always going to need X-ray technicians.

Much to my surprise, I have today off of work! My friends who live a few towns away have invited me to come out to their place for a noon time Memorial Day Barbeque, so I’ll be leaving in a short while to head out. I asked them if I could bring anything and they said no, just to come.

I’m looking forward to grilled steaks, potato salad, devilled eggs and corn on the cob! Yummy!

The last two Sundays that I’ve worked, the hubby of one of my next door neighbors has come to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions for his wife.  It was a surprise to see him!  I almost didn’t recognize him at first – being out of context like that!  But when I realized who it was I asked him how he was doing, and how his wife was doing.  He said she was suffering from really bad allergies, and that is what the medicine was for, her allergies.  But I think that he felt a little bit awkward to realize that I was working in the pharmacy; maybe he was afraid that I might learn all of their medical secrets.  Of course I would never access any-one’s record unless I had to do so in the line of work, and I haven’t done that.  I could get fired for doing that, and I want to keep my job!  This is a nice pharmacy to work for, the people are really nice and I don’t want to go to work anywhere else where the people might not be so nice!

Today is my 8th wedding anniversary!  Happy anniversary “M!”  I had to work all day today, so didn’t have time to go out and do something special, we’ll have to catch up on that soon.  I’d like to try to eat dinner at a Restaurant called Ben & Mary’s Steakhouse out on RT 17.  I’ve heard that they have good steak, and I’ve been wanting to give them a try ever since we moved here.

I must be hungry, I’ve got food on my mind today!  Our family LOVES mashed potatoes.  I HATE to peel potatoes!  In fact, I have carpal tunnel syndrome, and peeling veggies aggravates it, and ten minutes of peeling turns into three weeks of agony, so I just don’t do it anymore.  Well, no one else in the family would DREAM of peeling veggies, so when we have mashed potatoes we resort to the “instant” boxed flakes (which isn’t too terrible) but recently we discovered the Bob Evans brand of ready-to-heat-and-eat mashed potatoes in a tub.  They are FANTASTIC!  They are reasonably priced, and one tub feeds three people with decent portions.
