Seems to me that it is almost impossible nowadays to go to a restaurant and not see a direct sat commercial direct tv set in every corner of the dining room.  Just the other night my hubby and I went out to dinner at a Ruby Tuesday restaurant and as I was looking around I noticed that there was a commercial satellite tv within easy view of every single diner.  I’m not quite sure how I feel about having a television there in the restaurant.  On the one hand, I think it is good to have that kind of entertainment available for families that want it.  On the other hand, when I go out to eat dinner with my husband, I’d like to think that we are going out to enjoy each other’s conversation, not sit in silence and watch television!  Of course, there are times when I am eating a meal with someone and would prefer to NOT talk with them!

I never quite know how I feel about the volume level of the television.  I feel that if there are going to be televisions there, then there should be speakers at every table so that the diners can control the volume to their own liking.  I’ve only ever been in one restaurant like that, and that was about ten years ago.

One thing is for sure, the Dish business seems to be almost everywhere nowadays.  In almost every place imaginable where people might need to sit and wait for some kind of service.  I feel that is a mixed blessing.  What do you think about it?

One of the things that makes me good at my job is the fact that I empathize with my customers. Even though I am officially a pharmacy technician, I feel that it is my job to make my customers as happy as I possibly can. They are coming to the pharmacy because there is some kind of problem that they need help with. And many of them are on a very limited income, so I try to find ways to minimize their costs if they don’t have insurance, I offer several different free discounts that we have at our disposal. And if I know that there are coupons in the store on a product, I’ll go get one for them and ring it up so they can save a few dollars. And I think my customers are learning that about me. At least, I hope so!

There is nothing better that I can think of then being able to simply set my Adt alarm system, pack up my belongings, and set out with my entire family, as well as friends, to a remote fishing spot for a few days. I am assured that my home is safe and that it will be untouched when I get back, and make my mind able to reflect on other things then safety. There is nothing better.

I have been fishing ever since I was a child. My father taught me and my mother always came with us to many of our expeditions. Sometimes I won’t really catch any fish depending on what season it is, but one thing I can always be sure of is the fact that I will have heaps of fun. I love seeing my family catch something and know that they were responsible for it.

Cheney Lake is a place in Alaska where I really love to go. There is also hot springs in the area so that makes it a great benefit on those cold Alaskan days when the heat seems to be oh so far away. Although it takes up to five or six hours to reach this lake, it is well worth it when a cabin can be rented, and restaurants are nearby for me to visit.

When I saw that duck in the passenger seat of the car of a customer the other day, it reminded me of Toonces the driving cat. I haven’t seen any Toonces video in many years. I wondered if there were any Toonces videos on YouTube, and to my delight, I found some. Here is one that pairs up Toonces with the Keyboard cat! Really funny!

I was talking to Bethany talking today about how worried she is about her three kids getting into college.  She is on a limited income (let’s face it; pharmacy technicians do not make a lot of money) and she doesn’t think that her kids will manage to swing the finances to go to college.  She asked me how in the world my two kids managed to get into college.

I explained that we took out a lot of student loans for one of my kids, because his grades were not very good in high school he did not have access to a lot of college grants or college scholarships.  Still, we managed to get him though a lot of college with those loans!  My older son was very lucky and went to an University that had some generous benefactors and one of them paid his entire way through college!  So now we only have to worry about paying the student loans back for one of our kids.

I told Bethany that the best way to make sure her kids get the financing to go to college is for them to get really good grades.  But in addition to the resources that were available to my kids, her kids will have the added access to several minority scholarships that my kids weren’t able to apply for.  I’ve heard that there are a lot of good financial resources available for minorities in this day and age.
