I used to see peacocks when we went to Florida on vacation. They are all over Florida, in the wild and in nature parks. I have never seen an all white peacock yet. I think it is a beautiful bird and would love to see one.

We’ve been Costco members ever since I can remember. They have saved me a whole lot of money over the years, with their discount prices and bulk buying opportunities.
Today I stopped by the Costco to pick up a few things. I even remembered to bring my Costco coupon book. So, as I pushed the big cart down the aisles, I stopped in the dog food and dog treats sections and shopped for a new treat to take home to my fur-babies.
Costco has a coupon to save $3.50 off the club price of a dog treat called, “Nylabone Nubz, Edible Dental Dog Chews.” With the coupon, that makes this treat too good a bargain to pass by.
The Nylabone Nubz is made from real chicken and is even shaped like little chicken drumsticks. According to what I could read, the treats have no added sugar, salt, or preservatives. There are a lot of them in the bag – it looks like this treat bag might last more than a week.
Everyone has been talking about bedbugs the past week or two. All the news outlets are running articles, the morning shows are interviewing people, and the Internet is full of search results about how to get rid of these pests.
Evidently it is very hard to get rid of bedbugs from not only your bed but also any upholstered furniture you have, and even clothing and coats. Today I read a warning about buying bedding or furniture from flea markets, as items from those places have a high likelihood of bringing bedbugs into your home.
This won’t work for bed and large pieces of furniture, but if you happen to have any clothing, stuffed animals, or coats that show signs of a bedbug infestation, you can put that item into a large ziploc bag, and then place the bag into the freezer for 3-4 days. That will kill both any bedbugs and their eggs, as they cannot survive being frozen.
I was reading an article in The Chronicle yesterday about how people who continually update their Education make themselves more valuable employees. In this day and age, when people are so worried about competing in the job market, I think that taking some courses now and then is a good idea.
But many of us have transportation issues, or schedule issues and need to be able to take courses online. Fortunately there are lots of schools that offer online degrees. One of those, Walden University offers a degree in Communications, which is something I’ve always been interested in. I’ll have to check and see if my company has tuition reimbursement benefits for their employees! Getting a college education with someone else’s money is a good thing!
It appears that today was the first day of school. I got stuck behind one of the slowest school buses on the way to work this morning, not a good way to start the day. Good thing that most of the buses had taken all the kids home by the time I was on my way home. Just one more thing to add stress to the day.
