I don’t understand why the pharmacy under-staffs itself so badly on the weekends. On Saturday and Sunday, they only work one pharmacist and one pharmacy technician. Every time I go into the store on a weekend I take a look at the pharmacy and see that there are very long lines to drop off and pick up prescriptions. It is obvious that the pharmacy needs more pharmacy technicians to work on the weekends, but the stores are too cheap to schedule them. It makes me really glad that I don’t usually work on a Saturday!
Fortunately for me, I DO work on Sunday in a small pharmacy that is very slow. I only work from 10-2. I’ve offered to work longer hours, but the pharmacist says that he doesn’t really need me more hours than that, as those are the busy hours. So I’m glad to get the hours, and I’m glad it is a slow store because then I don’t feel overwhelmed – the work is a nice steady pace at that store on Sunday.
Today is my 8th wedding anniversary! Happy anniversary “M!” I had to work all day today, so didn’t have time to go out and do something special, we’ll have to catch up on that soon. I’d like to try to eat dinner at a Restaurant called Ben & Mary’s Steakhouse out on RT 17. I’ve heard that they have good steak, and I’ve been wanting to give them a try ever since we moved here.
Today an elderly woman came into the pharmacy to pick up her medicines. As usual, I had to ask her name and birthdate, to make sure that I was giving the medicine to the right person. Well, this poor old woman couldn’t remember her birthdate! She has Alzheimer’s and said she couldn’t remember! Well, I had her show me her driver’s license so I could verify who she was, and then I consulted with the pharmacist. I felt that we should call her caretaker and ask if she was ok to be out on her own, but the pharmacist said to just ask her if she was driving or walking. When she said she was walking, the pharmacist said to let her leave! I was certain that we were going to hear on the news tonight that she had gone missing, but I didn’t hear anything. I guess no news is good news, but I was very disturbed that we just let her leave!
